Save the Slum Initiative (STSI) is a registered NGO (CAC/IT/NO 139240) established in 2016, dedicated to improving the lives of people living in slums and underserved communities across Nigeria. STSI works in key areas such as Health, Education, WASH, Protection, Nutrition, and Livelihoods, promoting sustainable development and community empowerment. The organization has implemented projects in over 16 states in Nigeria and across parts of Africa.
Position: Community Mobilizer
Location: Maiduguri, Borno State

Summary:
The Community Mobilizer will lead grassroots engagement, mobilize communities, and support project implementation within assigned LGAs. The role involves working closely with local leaders and groups to ensure community participation and sustainability of humanitarian and development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct community entry and sensitization meetings.
- Organize awareness campaigns and outreach sessions.
- Mobilize and support diverse beneficiary groups.
- Assist in implementing and monitoring project activities (Health, WASH, Nutrition, etc.).
- Collect and report accurate field data.
- Strengthen community structures like WASH and mother support groups.
- Maintain good relations with stakeholders and report issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of ND or SSCE with relevant field experience.
- 1–2 years of experience in community mobilization or social work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English, Kanuri, and Hausa is required.
- Must reside in or be familiar with Pulka and Jere communities.
